BROKEN OAK CALVES

Here is the prime example of what we strive to breed at Broken Oak Ranch. Moderate frame easy doing cows that with our outstanding herd sires produce these kind of results. These results are what you can expect using Broken Oak genetics. This bull calf had an 82 pound BW and weaned off at 660 pounds, and is headed to our bull development program.

 

This is a great example of the type of calves that we are raising here at Broken Oak Ranch. This Polled Thunder sired heifer is out of one of our Northstar Vernon daughters. This mating is working exceptionally well for us. This heifer had a 77 pound birth weight and a 574 pound weaning weight. This heifer is out of Cornerstone and one of our first calf heifers. Here at Broken Oak Ranch we don't breed our cattle so that first calf heifer's have what we call throw away calves due to low performance. We believe that if you raise them right and breed them right you will have performance calves. This heifer is out of one of our Polled Thunder sired heifer's whose dam is our 313 cow who has been doing such great things for us. This calf had a 72 pound birth weight, and a 642 pound weaning weight. Pounds on the ground is what it is all about.

 This is a fine example of our upcoming calf crop. This BLACK JOKER daughter is a maternal sib to BOR Payday, one of LaMuneca's herd sires that we own together. This picture taken by Carlos Guerra during one of his recent visits here shows what our powerful female program can produce. This heifer is headed to our development pasture at weaning time.
