Broken Oak Ranch genetics wins several acclimation's in the Braunvieh Ring of Excellence competition.

 Silverado is the 2008 Braunvieh Show Bull of the year.

Iron Maiden is 2008 Braunvieh Show Heifer of the year, followed by Miss BOR 1194 in second, DIA N Goldberry is in fourth, and Miss BOR Stone Comet is in fifth. Of the top 5 show heifers 4 are either bred by or owned by Broken Oak Ranch.

Lone Star Fanny 710G the dam of Iron Maiden is Show Dam of the Year. She is at home here in our Donor pasture,look at her progeny in our Replacement Heifer page.

Silverado was crowned Grand Champion Bull at the 2008 Ft Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in the Braunvieh Open Show. He was faced with tough competition as this was probably the best group of Braunvieh Herd Sires that have ever been shown from top to bottom. Silverado's muscling and athleticism shown however in the show ring under the control of Roger McDowall with Flying I Ranch. Look for his progeny in our herd and in our partners Two Moons, and Flying I Ranch soon. This outstanding Herd Sire is destined to make his mark on the Braunvieh breed.

Broken Oak Ranch and Flying I Ranch announce their joint effort to support the Junior Program with a combined effort to supply the best available Braunvieh show cattle prospects in the breed. Using Broken Oak Ranches large calf base and Flying I Ranch's proven winning program we have combined forces to produce, provide, and promote winning Braunvieh Show Cattle for the Junior program. The prospects will be chosen from both our herd and Flying I Ranch's herd and will be placed under the Flying I Ranch's show winning management team of Mark & Zach Ivey and Roger McDowall . When Mark and Roger presented us with this idea to think about it took no time for us to make this deal happen. We use them to do our fitting and following in our attitude of only if it is good enough for Broken Oak then is it good enough for our customers, we jumped at the chance. Thanks for all the hard work and all the inconvenience encountered having to move motel rooms and such while you were staying in San Antonio. Also congratulations to FLying I for Miss BOR 1194, the top selling lot in Ft Worth a BOR TOM daughter for being crowned Grand Champion heifer. She was followed by Iron Maiden, more BOR genetics a Polled Thunder daughter who the following week was crowned Grand Champion Junior Braunvieh. Great job Jessica Johnson for all the work with this heifer.
