Phenomenon is our leading donor cow at Broken Oak Ranch. She is a Silver Bullet daughter out of one of our other great donors Samiral of PFI C 340. Phenomenon is the dam of our great herd sire Black Joker, the 2006 Braunvieh show bull of the year RDF Sampson, our exciting new and upcoming herd sire Encino,the grand dam of our herd sire Black Tom, the Mystic Hills donor Lifeline, and is the dam of many of the top producing Braunvieh in the breed today. Miss BOR Haileys Comet is named after not only the comet but our granddaughter Hailey. This outstanding cow did everything asked of her in the show ring being named the Show Heifer of the Year and is now doing every thing asked of her in the pasture. Out of her last flush she has put a bull in our replacement pasture that will become a premier herd sire at Broken Oak Ranch and a heifer show prospect in the show barn at Flying I Ranch. This outstanding female has a great future with us here as we plan on building a strong cow family out of her, her dams, and her grand dams progeny.

 Once in a lifetime a cow will come along that will change a program with her influence. This has happend here at Broken Oak Ranch. We call her cow 134 as this is her inventory tag number. She had a Coal Miner daughter here with us her first year pictured at left, Miss BOR 1342P was the stall mate of Haileys Comet and was reserve champion behind her all year. You see her show picutre and below that she is at work in the pasture with her outstanding Cornerstone daughter at side.

 After this success with Miss BOR 1342P we thought lets just breed 134 the same way and exposed her to Coal Miner again, only a problem arose on August 26, 2005 when she showed up in the bred cow pasture with a new born calf at side, about 2 months early. At weaning and using our extensive DNA records we determined this calf to be out of a Coal Miner son Mr BOR 1982N who was sold as a commercial bull and woud have to bred 134 when he was about 220 days old. Again an outstanding heifer calf that was put into our show barn for a short time.

 Natural breeding season was upon us again we turned her out with Black Joker, a week later she is bred and another outstanding heifer was born. She now has caught all of our attention. I decided to flush her in January 07 got 7 eggs and transfered them, flushed her again 45 days later got 8 good eggs and transfered them. I planned a flush for June which we did again transfered 6 eggs and waited 30 days and thought we will turn her out for the few days of breeding season that was left. When we palpated her she was of course bred. This outstanding fertiliy along with solid performance calves maker her one of our top donors. We have added to this great family of cattle with the purchase of her Grand Daughter Dia N Goldberry pictured at left as Grand Champion at the Nebraska Classic in 2008, and we have also purchase an outstanding maternal sister to her Miss Golden Link H8135 along with her daughter Miss River Hills M5444.

 Great proven cow families mated to great proven herd sires is the basic principal of our program at Broken Oak Ranch. We do not promote them unless until we prove them and we believe 134 MISS GOLDEN LINK 7058 is one of the outstanding proven cows in the breed today out of a cow family that is destined for greatness.
